Julie Delaney

Julie has been involved in the EFL industry since 1991 when she became the Business Manager of the Auckland and Christchurch campuses, and the Design & Arts College for ILA South Pacific Ltd (later known as Aspect, Kaplan Aspect and Kaplan International Colleges).

She was appointed to the position of Principal in Christchurch in 2000 and then relocated to Auckland to run the Aspect Auckland campus between 2002 and 2004.

In June 2006, after an 18-month break away being involved in a start-up phase of a tertiary institution in Queenstown, Julie returned to Christchurch once again in the position of Principal for Kaplan.

Drawing on her earlier experience in the airline industry as well, Julie pays particular attention to customer service ensuring that students enjoy a quality and memorable experience in New Zealand. She ensures that not only are students’ academic requirements met, but that they also receive support in cultural, social and personal aspects of their study abroad experience.

Sheryl Jackson

Sheryl has always had a love for travel, first travelling to Germany on a High School exchange programme for 6 weeks in 1985.  She later lived and worked in Germany for 1 year before moving to Japan in 1993 and working for 3 years in a High School as an ESOL teacher on the Japanese Government’s teaching exchange JET programme. 

After travelling extensively around South East Asia for 8 months, she then returned to Christchurch, obtained her CELTA and taught briefly at ILA South Pacific. Between 1997 and 2002 she then worked for a local High School, firstly teaching the New Migrant ESOL classes and then moving on to become the International Department Director. 

She left the High School in 2002 to take a role as the NZ Sales Manager for Aspect ILA (later known as Kaplan International Colleges). In 2008 she was transferred to Sydney to become the Sales & Marketing Director for NZ & Australia, where she worked until 2010 when she returned to Christchurch to become the owner of IEI together with Julie.

As Sheryl knows first-hand the advantages of living abroad and learning a new language, she strongly believes in the benefits of international education and in offering this opportunity to students with IEI in NZ.
